Hear Here

I stated before the idea of recording my blog posts for easier and accessible purposes, this is now something I can start working on.

Having received a Microphone for Christmas, I’m able to record such wettings and updates in case you’d rather hear instead of stare. One of a few up and coming projects!

Not only have I been – and continue to be – fascinated by the written word, but also with how it’s spoke, in case you haven’t worked that out by now.

Rhythm, intonation, syntax, the way the words on a page or a screen can be read and interpreted in so many different ways. Much like how notes on a music sheet can be played, or visualising the contents of a Screenplay.

Whether I have a knack for reading out loud or not is hard to say in my opinion. That’s down to you. Then again, I still remember being asked to; “Do the voices John!”, in GCSE English during reads of Of Mice And Men, so I guess the jury will always be out on that one!

All stemming from how I essentially had to learn how to converse my thoughts through speech therapy as a child, as opposed to parrot talking adverts as a way of garnering my Mother’s attention.

Faux pas a plenty 28 years later, and at times I do often get the impression it’s something I’ll never truly master in my lifetime, so I suppose what’s in the here and now is something of a compromise.

Once recorded, each Wetting will have the audio attached at the top, and if you don’t wish to wade through post by post for such read-alongs, then you can simply find the ‘Wettings – Audio’ tab above where they are all compiled into a neat little playlist.

Hoping such wettings leave an imprint, either audibly, or via the written word. Hear here!
